DOE releasing $25 Billion Energy Efficient Auto Manufacturing Guarantees
Last year congress approved $25 Billion in loan guarantees for Energy Efficient Auto Manufacturing. Companies that have applied for these loans include startups like Tesla Motors, battery makers Ener1 and A123Systems along with traditional auto manufactures.
These funds have been stalled in bureaucratic red tape and have yet to be dispersed. According to a Wall Street Journal with the new DOE chief, Steve Chu, these funds will start being dispersed within 4 weeks.
